ÅFIL Avd Snøscooter was founded on 30.12.06. The district's snowmobilers were summoned to an information meeting and a club was founded with 50 members from day one. The purpose of the club is to create a snowmobile trail where family and friends can ride snowmobiles in an organized manner. The trail is mainly laid out along forest roads, tractor roads, hiking trails and light line trails.

At the 2021 annual meeting, it was decided to withdraw from the local sports club, and in 2022 Åsnes Finnskog Snøscooterklubb became an independent club.
